Effects
of Different Foliar Fertilizers on the Growth of Chinese Cabbage
in 1998 field Trial
Yanbian Academy of Agricultural Sciences
1 Aim
of the experiment
The experiment is to demonstrate the effects of Power fertilizer
on the growth of Chinese cabbage and provide scientific support
for its use in Chinese cabbage production.
2 Materials and methods
2.1 The plant species of Chinese cabbage: Autumn Chinese cabbage.
2.2 Experimental design
2.3 Experimental site: Vegetable experimental base of Yanbian
Academy of agricultural Sciences. The fertility of the soil
was medium.
2.4 Experimental design: The experimental design was a completely
randomized block with
three blocks, and plots of 32 m2. Plant spacing and row spacing
are 30x60 cm.
2.5Field management: Applied DPA and urea fertilizer at rate
of 7.5 kg/mu and
7.5kg/mu, respectively.
3 Results
and analysis
3.1 Yield
Table 1 Effects of foliar fertilizer on yield of Chinese
cabbage (weight of single plant, x 500g)
The results
presented in table 1 shows that different foliar fertilizers
had difference effects on yield of Chinese cabbage. The yield
in plots treated with Power increased by 41.6% compared with
CK, the yield in plots treated with Ti-micronutrient increased
26.9% compared with CK. Both Power and Ti-micronutrient treatment
increased the yield of Chinese cabbage significantly compared
with CK.

Summary
4.1 Power foliar fertilizer showed significant effects on
the plant height, diameter of
stalk, and yield of Chinese cabbage.
4.2 Applying suitable micro-nutrient fertilizer is an effective
method for increasing
yield of Chinese cabbage, improving quality and characteritics
of Chinese produce.
4.3 The experimental results showed that all tested foliar
fertilizers delayed the development speed and reduced the
resistance of Chinese cabbage to downy mildew.
